Dr Carmen Barnes

Dr. Carmen Barnes is a doctor qualified in orthodox medicine as well as alternatives, similar to Dr Tessa Jones.

She completed her medical training in 2006 and began training in Functional Medicine in 2013. She is now a certified fellow of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) and has undergone extensive continuing medical education in hormone treatments, chronic infections, heavy metal toxicity, environmental illnesses, mycotoxin exposure and many other things.

She has most recently worked in Las Vegas, Nevada and is moving to Wellington with her Kiwi husband and young daughter.

Dr. Barnes enjoys performing procedures and is certified in the Patricia Kane (PK) protocol, an intravenous technique designed to treat neurodegenerative conditions such as dementia. Recently, she completed a course in Ozone Therapy and Prolozone, using ozone injections to treat joint pains and Arthritis.

Dr. Barnes loves to help her patients find the root cause of their illness and enjoys spending time discussing nutritional and lifestyle factors that may be contributing to their overall health. A self-proclaimed health nut, she loves to prepare healthy meals for herself and her family is an avid yoga practitioner, enjoys hiking, reading, traveling and photography. Her travels have taken her to many exotic locations, including the Peruvian Amazon, where she participated in research investigations on malaria vaccination. Her experience working across borders has gifted her with an appreciation and understanding for many cultures, lifestyles and philosophies of health. She is looking forward to a new opportunity in New Zealand and becoming familiar with all the wondrous things that New Zealand has on offer.
